WE ARE SAD TO REPORT THAT WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SCREEN HOMICIDAL ON OCTOBER 30 DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE AND HOPE THAT YOU WILL ENJOY OUR SUBSTITUTE FILM, ASYLUM.
Robert Bloch (author of Psycho) wrote this quartet of tales that fit together to solve a mystery that serves as the catalyst for each segment. A young psychiatrist (Robert Powell), applying for a position at an institute for the incurably insane, must interview four patients and correctly ascertain which of them is the former head of the hospital. One by one, each patient tells their terrifying story, leading to an unexpected finale.
This gem from England's Amicus Productions (Hammer Film Productions’ chief rival during the 1960s and 1970s) is one of the finest examples of the "horror anthology," a sub-genre Amicus specialized in. ASYLUM features a great British cast including Hammer stalwart Peter Cushing, Patrick Magee, Britt Ekland and Charlotte Rampling. In addition to the feature, we will be screening a selection of horror movie trailers and spooky cartoons.
"Great cast of horror veterans, well written script, and a deft execution." — The Motion Picture Guide
"Lively horror compilation with echoes of Caligari and Dead of Night." — Halliwell's Film Guide
"A good script and a very strong cast helps to make this a most entertaining anthology film." — Gary A. Smith, Uneasy Dreams
