The Great War's been over for twenty years but a clueless Stanley continues to guard his trench until the day he shoots down a civilian aircraft and gets his picture splashed across the front pages. Oliver visits him at the veteran's home and invites him to the Hardy's to meet his wife and to enjoy a home-cooked meal, but the missus and the neighbors have other things in store for the reunited comrades.
